During counselling if u get NIT then take it.this would b best.
Bt if u doesn't get NIT then taking drop will be best.
U can also try 4 other good private college.without taking drop.

Bt as its ur 12th academic yr.u should mainly focus on 12th syllabus.and along with it u should keep preparing 4 jee.
If u prepare well for 12th then it is very helpful for u in jee.
Manage ur time.4 both boards and jee preparation. And follow it strictly.
