JEE Advanced rank lists are prepared based on the aggregate marks in JEE Advanced. Only candidates who appear for BOTH Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be considered for ranking. There will be no waiting list for ranking. The ranklist is used in JoSAA for allocation of seats in the IITs. JoSAA is held online only. All the candidates who are eligible for admission will have to participate in the joint seat allocation process by filling in their preferential choices of the courses and institutes. JEE Advanced 2023 counselling is JoSAA. JoSAA 2023 registrations is expected to start on June 19. JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) has been set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to manage and regulate joint seat allocation for admissions to over 100 institutes including IITs, NITs, IIITs, and Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). If the JEE Advanced aggregate marks scored by two or more candidates are the same, then the following tie-break policy will be used for awarding ranks: Step 1: Candidates having higher positive marks will be awarded higher rank. If the tie breaking criterion at Step 1 fails to break the tie, then the following criterion at Step 2 will be followed. Hello Yash Chauhan, National testing agency while declaring results takes into account various categories of reservations provided under relevant Government orders. If you have not mentioned in the application form for JEE Mains examination that you are from EWS category then your merit will be only from general category and not from EWS category. This being the case you may not be able to appear for JEE Advanced examination if your percentile is not above the cut off that will be declared shortly by National testing agency. No, there is no provision to re-evaluate/re-check JEE Advanced 2024 result. The exam conducting authority will not entertain any correspondence in this regard. Therefore candidates have to accept the scores of the exam as declared by the authority as the final ones. JEE Advanced 2024 AIR will be used for JoSAA counselling in the allotment of seats in the IITs. To check scores using the JEE Advanced answer key, candidates have to follow the marking scheme of the exam. The marking scheme of the exam is displayed on the JEE Advanced online question paper. The broad types of questions that are asked in JEE Advanced are:
Single correct, Multiple correct, Numerical type, Paragraph type, Matrix match type, Question stem (Paragraph type question with answer in numerical form). There are questions of 1 mark, 2 marks, 3 marks and 4 marks. There are also questions with negative markings of -1, -2, etc. Candidates must read the instructions on the question paper properly regarding the marking scheme.

No. Candidates cannot challenge the final JEE Advanced answer key. The final answer key is released after all challenges against the provisional key are considered and the changes, if any, are made. Based on the answer of the JEE Advanced final answer key the result of the exam is prepared. Therefore the final answer key cannot be challenged. The provisional answer keys for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 are displayed on the online portal.
