JEE Advanced rank lists are prepared based on the aggregate marks in JEE Advanced. Only candidates who appear for BOTH Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be considered for ranking. There will be no waiting list for ranking. The ranklist is used in JoSAA for allocation of seats in the IITs. JoSAA is held online only. All the candidates who are eligible for admission will have to participate in the joint seat allocation process by filling in their preferential choices of the courses and institutes. If the aggregate marks scored by two or more candidates are the same, then the following tie-break policy will be used for awarding ranks: Candidates having higher positive marks will be awarded a higher rank. If a tie exists then a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Mathematics. If there is a tie even after this, candidates will be assigned the same rank.

JEE Advanced 2023 counselling is JoSAA. JoSAA 2023 registrations is expected to start on June 19. JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) has been set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to manage and regulate joint seat allocation for admissions to over 100 institutes including IITs, NITs, IIITs, and Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). Admissions to all these institutes will be done through a single platform. Candidates who qualify for the JEE Main or JEE Advanced must register for JoSAA 2023 to participate in the counselling and admission process for various renowned engineering institutes across India. Hello Yash Chauhan, National testing agency while declaring results takes into account various categories of reservations provided under relevant Government orders. If you have not mentioned in the application form for JEE Mains examination that you are from EWS category then your merit will be only from general category and not from EWS category. This being the case you may not be able to appear for JEE Advanced examination if your percentile is not above the cut off that will be declared shortly by National testing agency. In any case at such a belated stage one cannot change the category since the time for it is already over. However you may do it again next year if you decide to appear for these examinations.
