For JEE Main Exam you should meet the following eligibility requirements:
1. Nationality & Citizenship
2. Age Limit & Date of Birth
3. Year of Appearance in 12th Class/Diploma Degree/Equivalent Exam
4. No. Of Subjects in the Qualifying Examination
5. No. Of Attempts
6. JEE Main Eligibility Marks

Candidate is asked to fill a state code while applying for JEE Main Exam which means code of the state/ Union territory from where candidate has passed 12th or equivalent examination. Candidates appearing Board exams other than native states must be alert about this. Also, if a candidate has appeared for board exam from one city and improvement exam from other then he/she must fill up the state code from they have appeared for board exam.
