There is nothing to worry. You are eligible for JEE Mains if you have scored at least 75% in the Diploma you are attending. For more details about the JEE Mains ELigibility. visit:

According to this, a student pursuing a diploma is also eligible for appearing in the JEE Mains exam, but only if you have scored at least 75% marks in your diploma.

The official notification for JEE exam has been announced on 20th Nov.2018. And many candidates were not happy because of the eligibility criteria for JEE Mains. To get the complete details visit:

According to this, students who have scored at least 75% marks in the 12th class boards or are in the top 20 percentile in the 12th board, are only eligible for even appearing in the JEE Mains examination.

Though you can use your JEE Mains scorecard to get admission in other top private as well as state-funded colleges like:
Thapar University
BITS Mesra
LNMIIT etc.
If you still want to take admission in IITs or NITs or IIITs, you can prepare for next year. During your preparation, you can go for the NIOS exam to get sufficient percentage to qualify JEE exam.

The WBJEE exam will be conducted on 22nd April 2018, whereas the IIT JEE Mains exam will be conducted on 8th April 2018.
As per the latest notification, the JEE Mains exam will be conducted through both online and offline mode for the 2018 session, while JEE Advanced will be conducted through only Online mode.

With reference to your question, if you just want to appear in JEE Mains and get a good score to get admission in good colleges other than IITs, NITs and IIITs, then you can appear in JEE Mains exam if you have cleared 12th class.
But for getting admission in any IITs, NITs and IIITs, you have to score at least 75% in 12th.

To check the cut off for JEE Mains, visit www.eduncle.com/iit-jee
As your scored marks are less than the cut off marks. It will be pretty hard to get admission in any NIT or IIIT.

For IIT JEE 2018, following are the eligibility criteria for appearing in this exam:
Should be an Indian, NRIs, PIOs, OCIs or foreign national candidates can also apply.
For General and OBC:
As per the JEE Main Eligibility 2018, candidates must have born after 1st October 1993.
For ST/SC/PWD: ST, SC, PWD can be benefited with 5 years of age relaxation.
12th class/equivalent exam cleared candidates in 2016/2017.
12th Class/Equivalent Exam Appearing Candidates in 2018.
Diploma Holders who have already passed or are in their final year of pursuing D
