May I advise you to seriously seek counsel from the career counsellor. Why engineering? Commerce & humanities have equally good openings. The eligibility for NITs & IITs is 75% or more.

Yes, you can appear for JEE Mains. You must score 75% in your Diploma final exams. Diploma is considered as equivalent to class 12th.

You can appear for JEE Mains but what's use? You can take admission only if your state is accepting these results. With marks you have scored, I strongly advise you to seek guidance from s career counsellor. Choose a different career.

These days, admission is only through CET or JEE. The only other way is to bid for management quota for direct admissions.

It's normal practice in any MCQ type of paper to have negative marking. This is to prevent students from randomly marking answers even if they are not knowing ABC of it. It has been observed that many students have a tendency to mark answers whenever no negative marking is prescribed with the hope of getting few marks simply by stroke of luck. Here in JEE Mains, authorities have therefore decided to have negative marking @1 mark per wrong answer which is quite liberal and not stiff. However, knowing this, I suggest you must attempt to answers all questions first where you feel that you have found correct answer. After this
