You can't get admission in a government college. You can try in private colleges.

You will get the college only when your marks are high not just too close to cut-off marks. If any college is allotted to you then look that your favourable branch is being provided to you or not. Fill the form for DU, DAIICT, etc. Try to get admission in that college only in which your favourable branch is available.

There is nothing wrong to select engineering as a career. You can select any private college for B.Tech. Try for LNMIIT or Thapar or Jaypee Noida, Sec 62, Shiv Nadar, etc.

In many colleges, they only check your JEE score. It is not mandatory to get 75% in 12th. To get a good college, mandatory is to get good rank and marks in JEE. As you cleared your cut-off, you may get a good college. You can try but if you will not get, then you can take a drop for one year and you can get a good college.
Good luck.
