It's not clear if you can get a seat at MAKAUT with a JEE Main rank of 500,000, but here's some related information about MAKAUT admissions and JEE Main ranks:A rank of 50,000–65,000 in JEE Mains is considered good and can lead to admission into top engineering institutes. A rank of 65,000 or lower can lead to admission into 15 NITs and other government and private institutes. To be eligible for B.Sc. admissions at MAKAUT, you need to have a 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 45%. MAKAUT accepts exams such as WBCHSE, CBSE 12th, ISC, MAKAUT CET, IIHM eCHAT, JENPAS UG, NCHMCT JEE, GNIHM JET, and ICSE.

Yes, it considers JEE Main scores for some engineering programs of this institution. Thus, with high rank in JEE Main, direct applications for a relevant course will be done. Then check for the eligibility criteria and cut-offs for a course in which you're interested and provide all mandatory documents along with a score card of JEE Main.

The JEE Main cutoff varies each year based on factors like the number of applicants, exam difficulty, and seat availability. It includes two types: the qualifying cutoff (for eligibility to JEE Advanced) and the admission cutoff (for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs). The qualifying cutoff for General category is typically around 85-90 percentile, while reserved categories have lower cutoffs. For the latest information, check the official NTA JEE Main portal or individual college cutoffs as they are announced after each counseling round.

As a US citizen studying in India, you fall under the Foreign National category for JEE Main registration.
