Congratulations, you have scored quite good marks and you will surely get a seat in one of the NITs. And, NITs have state quota for the students of respective states. So, if you belong to any one of the states, where NITs are situated, then your chances of getting a seat in NIT will be easy.

You should compare your rank with last year's SC cutoff's ranks of NITs at

There you would get an idea of your selection. Check for your Homestate NIT first. By the way counselling has been started and first round has been announced today. You can also check the cutoff ranks of this year's first round of councelling on josaa. Nic. In

For admissions to NITs/ IIITs/ GFTIs, candidates should have secured at least 75% marks in class 12th exam or be in the top 20 percentile in the class 12th exam conducted by the respective board. Not at all. For getting NIT-Rourkela, you have to secure a rank with AIR 1500, which needs above 240 marks in JEE Mains paper 2.

Yes you can surely get admission in NIT Rourkela as well as other NITs as you have scored a good rank in any preferred branch depending upon your choice. The placements here are good. The companies come and accept the students with good packages. PSUs recruit with the highest packages. Renowned companies visit the campus.
