Generally speaking, though, in order to be considered for admission to the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs), applicants must receive at least 75% of their class 12 marks or rank in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards. SC/ST candidates must have earned at least 65% of the possible points in class 12. Nonetheless, some states that recognise JEE Main scores for admission to B.Tech programmes, such Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, etc., may have lower requirements for class 12 grades.JEE Main is not the only entrance exam for B.Tech admission; there are several entrance exams at the state and national levels, including MHT CET, BITSAT, Andhra Pradesh EAMCET, SRMJEEE, WBJEE, VITEEE, UPSEE, and others. Every exam has a different set of requirements, curriculum, format, and deadline. Applicants are free to select the exam that best suits their needs and preferences.
