With 95% in JEE Main and an open category rank of 76586, your chances of securing admission in GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes) may be limited. GFTIs generally admit students based on their All India Rank (AIR), which correlates closely with the percentile score. A rank of 76586 in the open category suggests you may face challenges as GFTIs tend to have higher cutoffs. While admission criteria can vary each year, you may still have opportunities in less popular branches or through state quotas in certain GFTIs. With an 82 percentile in JEE Mains, your chances of securing admission in NITs (National Institutes of Technology) are limited. Percentile indicates your position relative to other candidates, and typically, an 82 percentile corresponds to an All India Rank (AIR) around 2,50,000 to 3,00,000, depending on the total number of test-takers and their distribution of scores. While admission criteria can vary each year, securing a seat in NITs with an 82 percentile may be challenging. However, you may have opportunities in less popular branches or through state quotas in certain NITs. It's advisable to participate actively in counseling
