The digital literacy courses offered at NIELIT Ranchi focus on providing basic online education to people such as accessing the internet, creating an email account, operating online banking, learning the basic computer jargon, etc. The duration of the short-term courses ranges between 80-120 hours. NIELIT Ranchi offers 'O' level courses for a duration of one year. The objective of the course is to enable a student to acquire fundamental knowledge of IT tools, business systems, internet technology, web design, ‘C’ language programming, application of .NET technology, introduction to multimedia, etc. Therefore, the choice of the top course depends entirely on the students choices and preferences.
