JIPMER BSc admission is entrance-based. Candidates are shortlisted and admission is offered based on NEET scores. However, there are some specialisations, in which the admission can be granted on merit-basis. Candidates who are Class 12 pass with PCM/Biology and English as a subject with at least 50% aggregate (for general candidates) can apply. The aspirants must meet the age limit as well. The cutoff for the B.Sc. in Anaesthesia Technology course in the year for JIPMER, Puducherry is the latest cutoff based on the NEET-UG as JIPMER entrance exam is through NEET. In general category candidates, a NEET score of 450-500 or above is generally expected, although it changes every year depending on number of seats and competition. As seen, the handful set quota categories have a lower cutoff typically below 350-450 marks.Traditional category candidates, OBC, SC, and ST typically score below 450 marks. Thus, scoring much above the minimum cutoff as the case with JIPMER is preferred due to high demand.

In general, a rank between 4300-4600 is expected for this specialty according to previous trends. Cut-offs, however, vary each year depending on applicants and difficulty levels of exams.
