The modes of JIS University course admissions 2023 are online and offline. Admission to various courses at JIS University Kolkata is merit-based and depends on the entrance exam scores. At the undergraduate level, the JIS University Kolkata offers four-year BTech, three-year BSc, BCA, BBA, BA, and other courses to students. At the postgraduate level, the JIS University Kolkata offers two-year MSc, LLM, and other courses to students. JIS University Kolkata also offers PhD courses to students.

The eligibility criteria for admission to various courses (excluding PhD) at the JIS University is a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 45% to 60% aggregate and the university accepts the entrance exam scores. The selection criteria for various courses is based on the aptitude test followed by a GD/personal interview which will be practised for every course admission at JIS University. Candidates who match the above-mentioned eligibility criteria have a high chance of getting admission to various courses at JIS University Kolkata. Currently, applications are open for admission to various courses.

The JIS University Kolkata is recognised by the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, Government of India as a Scientific & Industrial Research Organisation and is a member of UNAI and AIU (Association of Indian Universities).
