Jamia Millia Islamia adopts certain policy to break the tie, if two candidates get the same scores in the JMI Entrance Exam. The tie breaking policy is made according to the programme. In all other programmes except B.Tech, B.Arch BDS the tie is resolved on the basis of the date of birth that is the candidates older in age is given the higher rank. For interview programmes, candidates securing high marks in the entrance exam is given higher rank. No. There is no provision for revaluation/re-checking of JMI entrance exam result. The university does not entertain any correspondence in this regard. The decision of the University is binding and final. To score well in the exam candidates must work hard so that they can beat the prescribed cut off for their programme. However, Jamia Millia Islamia releases the answer key after the examination is over. Candidates can file objections related to answer key within three days.

Selected candidates are required to complete their admission formalities as per the admission process declared by the Jamia Millia Islamia. Shortlisted candidates are required to attend the counselling as per the schedule and bring the following documents at the time of admission.
1. Marksheet of qualifying exam (Class 12, graduation, postgraduation)
2. Age proof based on the Certificate of high school/secondary school or equivalent examination
3. Reserved category certificate
4. Character Certificate
5. Permanent address proof
6. Experience and No Objection Certificates (In case of working candidates)
7. Admit Card.

The result of Jamia Millia Islamia entrance exam is declared in the form of merit list. The list contains the selected candidates for each course. Category, age, marks obtained in the examination etc. Of the candidates are taken into account while making the list. After releasing the list of selected candidates the process of counseling starts. If seats are left after counseling then additional list of candidates selected from waiting list is displayed in order of merit as per university admission process. JMI Entrance Exam scores are valid for admission in the current academic session only. The result of JMI Entrance Exam 2023 cannot be carried forward for admission in 2024-25 academic session. Therefore, if a candidate fails to qualify for JMI Entrance Exam 2023 or is unable to take admission in that academic year, he/she will have to appear for JMI Entrance Exam in the next year and take admission. After one year, JMI exam marks will be just another document or record to prove the appearance in the written test.

No, Jamia Millia Islamia does not send the JMI Entrance Exam result by post to any candidate. The result has to be viewed online from the official website of JMI Exam. Candidates must check their scores and take a printout of the result till the admission process is complete. The JMI Entrance Exam result is declared in the form of merit list which contains the candidate's individual score and the cut off for every category. Candidates meeting the cut off will be called for counselling or interview (if required).

No. The result of JMI Entrance Exam will be released on the basis of the level of programme. Usually results for M.Phil and Ph.D. programmes are released later, as the admission process for such programmes is different as compared to other ones like undergraduate and postgraduate. Moreover, the JMI Entrance Exam Result is released separately for each course. In some courses interview is also conducted after the written test while for some courses candidates have to appear for counseling based on the cut off released by the university. JMI Entrance Exam is a pen and paper-based test which is designed to assess a candidate's analytical aptitude, logical reasoning skills, English comprehension and general awareness. The JMI Entrance Exam pattern for all the courses varies. According to the test format for Undergraduate programmes. The JMI Entrance Exam question paper most likely consists of 100 MCQ-type questions with a maximum score of 100. The question paper is divided into two parts, Part A and Part B, and the total time to complete the paper is 1 hour and 45 minutes. Candidates should note that those obtaining less than 15% marks in the Objective Type/ Multiple Choice questions will not be shortlisted for interview/admission.

According to JMI Entrance Exam pattern 2023, there will be no deduction of marks for unanswered questions. Such questions will not be taken into consideration while calculating the total marks of a candidate. Hence, if candidates are not sure about the answer of a question, it is better to leave it unattempted rather than doing a guess work, to avoid negative marking. Although candidates should attempt all the questions in decriptive part and refrain from leaving questions.
