First cut-off was 97% for general, 92% and 91% for SC/ST and OBC respectively. The fifth and final cut-off landed upto 94.5% and admissions were closed.

Hi, Eligibility of the Master of Arts [M.A.] (Journalism) - The basic eligibility for admission to an MA program in Journalism is a Bachelor degree in Journalism and/or Mass Communication with a minimum of 50% marks.

Yes, you can study journalism in Tamil Nadu. Just select the medium as Tamil at the time of admission. Also after completing this course, you will be having a lots of opportunities to explore.

It will depend on the college whether they will provide you direct admission because UGC had made it that minimum 45 percent is necessary if SC/ST and minimum 50 percent if general category.
