M.Sc in microbiology and Masters in mass media and journalism are two poles apart. There is no similarity between the two courses. Microbiology will lead to a job in a career in medical, whereas mass communication and journalism will lead to a career in advertising, reporting, event management and much more. You would be in a better situation to decide which fields interests you the most.

As a TV journalist, you're responsible for reporting on the news to your viewers. Your main focus is to research news events in order to compile presentable stories. This may include traveling to the scene of events and interviewing those involved, like bystanders or police officers.
