Candidates willing to get admission to K J Somaiya Institute of Management for Ph.D. courses must have a Master degree from a recognised university along with a valid score in the PET exam conducted by Somaiya Vidyavihar University. Those, however, with a valid score in CSIR NET UGC NET JRF, ICMR JRF DBT JRF (BET), INSPIRE, Prime Minister Fellowships are exempted from the university level test.
