Maybe for some, you need to get good marks for some courses in 12th and for some you need to get a good result in JEE and other competitive exams as per the eligibility.For general category, yes, the competition is cut throat and to get through it sometimes seems a bit difficult but through hardwork, it's easy peasy.

To get there in B.Tech in computer Science and engineering (lateral entry), you need to have scored minimum 60% (general category).Rest for general B.Tech, you can manage with 45% only.
