In the KARTET exam, papers 1 and 2 contain 150 objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs) each. Paper 1 comprises 5 sections i.e. Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. Paper 2 comprises 4 sections with a choice in the fourth one i.e. Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, and Mathematics and Science or Social Studies. KARTET Marking Scheme: 1 mark is allotted for every correct answer and there is no negative marking in the KARTET exam.

The KARTET exam is conducted in offline mode as a pen-and-paper based test. Candidates need to mark their answers on the OMR sheet. The candidates need to fill the sheet carefully as no extra OMR sheet will not be given in the exam. However, the KARTET application process is complete online process. The candidates have to fill out he application form online on the official website. Other than this the application fee have to paid online.
