Candidates must have BTech, BE, BSc, MCA, or MSc in a related field with aggregate marks of 50% and above (45% for SC/ST, OBC/Other categories) and must be qualified in TANCET / GATE for admission. Direct admission to TANCA Counselling is available to candidates with a valid GATE score.

The eligibility criterion varies according to the programme. For BTech, the eligibility includes completion of class 12 with a combination of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and obtaining a valid score in TNEA. For MTech, a bachelor's degree in the relevant field along with a valid TANCET score is required. A master's degree in any relevant field and obedience with norms of Anna University are required for eligibility in PhD.
