BTech course is offered in five specialisations at IIT Palakkad: Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Data Science Engineering, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. Data Science is the new addition to the IIT Palakkad B.Tech programme which was introduced in 2022. The curriculum includes core courses that cover topics such as mathematics, Probability and Statistics computational thinking, data management, modelling and assessment, and ethics, providing a strong foundation in these subjects.

The institute has signed a study abroad agreement with Auckland University of Technology (AUT), Auckland, New Zealand, The Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, The University of California, San Diego and The University of Texas at Austin among others. Yes, IIT Palakkad offers a two-year MTech programme in six specialisations. These specialisations are Geotechnical Engineering and Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Manufacturing and Materials Engineering, Computing and Mathematics, Data Science, Power Electronics and Power Systems and System-on-Chip Design. To be eligible for the MTech programme at IIT Palakkad candidates need graduation with 60%. The selection of the candidates who are eligible for the MTech programme happens through GATE and COAP Counselling.

The total tuition fee of the MTech course at IIT Palakkad is INR 10,000 for the entire two years, although there are other components that might be added to the total tuition fee at the time of admission. Well furnished hostels rooms are provided at the college. The hostel fee is around 20,000 rupees per year. Mainly the advantages of the hostel is provided to the students who belong to other states rather than the regional state of the college. In the dorm, students will have access to a furnished single room with an adjoining bathroom. The hostel offers free ethernet and Wi-Fi internet access so that guests may use their laptops or desktop computers to browse the web.
