Some notable alumni include Rohan Kulkarni, Senior Manager at Accenture, with over 10 years of experience, and Priyanka Deshpande, Product Manager at Google, with over 8 years of experience. Some of the notable alumni include Swapnil Jadhav, founder and CEO of a startup that achieves a turnover of INR 5 crores and Amruta Kulkarni, Senior HR Manager at Infosys, who has over 12 years of experience. The alumni pool includes some 20% of entrepreneurs and 30% who are in leadership positions of top companies.

The cutoff marks for Institute of Management Education and Research, KIT vary for the course and category. In the case of the MBA program, the cutoff marks for the 2023 session were around 60-70 percentile in the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test, MAH-CET. For the CAT exam, the cutoff marks were around 50-60 percentile. The institute also considers scores from other entrance exams like CMAT and MAT. However,  the institute does not give a 100% scholarship to all the students. It gives approximately 20-25 scholarships every year from 25% to 50% of the tuition fees. The institute gives scholarships on the basis of academic performance, entrance exam scores, and other criteria. Approximately 10-15% of the students are getting scholarships every year. Total scholarship amount distributed annually is around INR 10 -15 lakhs. Scholarships can be availed at the time of admission, and then there is a committee which decides which candidate should get the scholarship.

KIT's Institute of Management Education and Research (KIT's IMER) provides various extracurricular activities and clubs to develop its students in a holistic manner. There are about 15 clubs and committees present in the institute, which include Debate Club, Cultural Club, Sports Club, and Entrepreneurship Cell. Students participate in various events and competitions, such as the annual management fest, cultural fest, and sports meet. The institute also arranges around 20-25 guest lectures and workshops per year with industry experts and thought leaders. The students are also encouraged to participate in community service initiatives, such as blood donation camps and environmental awareness programs. Almost 80% of the students actively participate in extracurricular activities.
