Candidates need to pass Class 12 or any diploma of a minimum of one-year after Class 10 to apply for NIELIT Kolkata O Level course. Besides, the eligibility criteria for direct applicants is Class 12 or any diploma of a minimum of one-year after Class 10, followed in each case by one-year relevant experience or pass in NCVT-DP&CS (Data Preparation & Computer Software) Examination. Any graduate without any experience can also apply for O Level course.

IISER Kolkata follows the seat reservation rules laid down by the Government of India. As per an official document, the institute reserves 64.5% of the seats for reserved category students, including OBC, SC, and ST. As per the policy, the highest number of reservations (27%) is provided to candidates belonging to the OBC category.
