KPRIET follows the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission process of Anna University for its admissions. That means admission will be based on your performance in a qualifying exam-most probably your 12th grade result-and rank during the TNEA counselling. The institution, through KPRIET, does not provide direct admission information about any of the B. Tech. programmes on the website and resources.

To get into the KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology (KPRIET) for B.Tech.courses the cut-off marks required are pretty high always, but depending on the branch you are aiming for, the competition level of the year and other factors, 200 marks in JEE Mains can get you a good chance for the course that you are applying for in this college. Apart from the TNEA where it selects its students from Class 12 scores, they may accept the scores of the JEE Mains for management quota admissions. With this score, you are assured of a seat in a course like CSE or ECE under the management quota.

KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology (KPRIET) has been under the title of a second-tier organizations. It is accepted for its constructing, instructing and fairly good placement records mainly in computer Science and engineering streams. However, it is not in the Tier 1 category with IIT and NIT all branded as institutions of national level and premier academic research institutes.
