At KTU - APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, the hostel rooms are on a sharing basis, with two or three students sharing a room. Basic services including electricity, furniture in the room, Wi-Fi, and a constant supply of water are available at the hostel.  The quality of the food served in the hostel's mess is good.

It has authority over Kerala's 14 districts. In 2015, the institution was given A. P. J. Abdul Kalam's name in honour of the Indian aerospace scientist and politician.

As per the annual report 2022, the university conducted more than 260 campus placement drive which includes on-campus drive. More than 10,984 students were placed during AKTU MBA placements 2023 and during the placement drive for other courses in renowned companies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini, and many more.
