The faculty at NID Kurukshetra consists of highly qualified individuals who have graduated from esteemed institutions such as NID Ahmedabad, NIFT, and other renowned national and international institutes. In order to meet the curriculum requirements, visiting faculty of national and international repute are also engaged to provide specialised training to the students.

To secure admission to NID Kurukshetra's GDPD programme, candidates must pass the Central Design Aptitude Test (that). Successful performance in that leads to shortlisting for the studio test. NID Kurukshetra has arranged accommodation for female students in partnership with the National Institute of Technology and for male students with Kurukshetra University, SKIET. The institutes have also organized food services through a service provider. NID Kurukshetra offers two well-equipped girls' hostels with amenities such as a common room, separate mess, internet, television, sports facilities, and medical services. The hostels are supervised by experienced wardens. The annual hostel fee at NID Kurukshetra is INR 22,825.

NID Haryana aims to transform students into skilled professionals, either by helping them secure industry jobs or nurturing them into successful entrepreneurs. Renowned recruiters like Deloitte, Accenture, TCS, and OnePlus actively participate in the National Institute of Design Kurukshetra placements. The highest package recorded during placements at NID Kurukshetra is INR 17LPA.

The NID Kurukshetra has introduced the Scholarship Grant starting from AY 2020-21. It is awarded based on merit and is also available to economically disadvantaged students. The top-performing student in the Foundation Batch, who secures an open rank of 60 or above in the NID Admission Exam, will receive an INR 50,000 scholarship.

NID Haryana, also known as NID Kurukshetra, was founded in 2016 under the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Information Technology of the Indian Government. It is an independent institution offering a Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) with specializations in Industrial Design, Communication Design, and Textile & Apparel Design. The GDPD courses at NID Haryana emphasize industry and field exposure in their teaching approach.
