I think you're asking about the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). They're not just for M.A. English but for all courses the admission process is through entrance exams. Till last year it was there their own entrance exam was conducted but for 2022 it is going to be through the Central University common eligibility test (CUCET). So only if you crack the entrance you'll get admission to JNU.

Candidates who have completed a bachelor's degree in psychology as the main subject are eligible to get admission to this course.
