A. Japanese language courses have been established in India since the early 1950s. It was the Ministry of Defence which began offering the course in their affiliated School of Foreign Languages in 1954 and a Japanese department was set up, making it the first University in the nation to offer a course in the Japanese language. The University of Delhi followed suit and established its Japanese Studies Centre in 1969, the University of Pune established a course in 1977 and Jawaharlal Nehru offered a doctorate in the Japanese language in 1982.

No, to apply for UG courses at the School of Languages and Literature candidates must meet the eligibility criteria set by the college. For BA (Hons) English courses, students must pass Class 12, respectively. The selection criteria for the course are Application form evaluation including personal statement + Online? entrance? test/?
