Several English proficiency tests are accepted by TAFE SA Regional for admissions. Among these tests are:• TAFE SA Regional normally requires a minimum score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), with the exact requirement varying according to the programme and level of study. The internet-based TOEFL, or IBT, is well recognized. • The International English Language Testing System, or IELTS, is another test that TAFE SA Regional accepts to measure students' English competence. Again, each programme may have different minimum score criteria.• Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) may be accepted as evidence of English proficiency for some the TAFE SA Regional programs. 

Like many other Australian educational institutions, South Regional TAFE accepts a number of English proficiency tests as proof of a foreign student's English language proficiency. One of the exams for English language proficiency that is most commonly accepted globally, even by Australian universities, is IELTS. IELTS is typically accepted in both academic and general training versions by South Regional TAFE. The TOEFL is also a widely accepted test that assesses students' English language competency in academic contexts. TOEFL results are usually accepted by South Regional TAFE as well. Accepted by Central Region TAFE and many other Australian colleges and TAFEs, PTE Academic evaluates listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills in the English language. South Regional TAFE accepts the Cambridge Assessment English (CAE) exam as evidence of English language ability. It is acknowledged worldwide.
