Read between the lines and if you are studying for board then make sure that you cover all the derivations because they are the only thing that can provide you with full marks in that particular question of derivation. Try to understand the concepts if you can understand it by NCERT well and good but if you find it difficult to read it for sure you can go for some youtube videos to understand the concepts. And as we know that Physics is not about theory it is more about understanding and problem solving or I can say numericals these two are the core if Physics. First you complete the derivations and understanding the concept just go through the formulas and start doing the solved numericals so you can understand what is the flow of solving the numericals and your mind will start thinking like that to resolve that problem.
