Each state university conduct own entrance exam for lateral entry students. So, appear in that exam. Moreover, some deemed university conduct own entrance exam or also fill seats management seats directly.

Eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam)
Pass with 60% aggregate marks in Diploma (Engineering.) (any stream) 3 years after 10th or 2 yrs. after 10+2(Non-Medical) or B.Sc.(Non-Medical) or B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST.
(5% relaxation to North East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmiri Migrants)
(10% relaxation to outstanding Sports Persons (i.e. A/A+ category as per Sports Scholarship), Subject to verification from Selection committee* of the University)

Normally speaking, process of lateral admission begins after declaration of results of diploma in engineering in the state of MP. Also this process begins normally after completion of admission process of engineering colleges for 1st year has been completed.
