* Eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam)
Pass with 60% aggregate marks in Diploma (Engg.) (any stream) 3 years after 10th or 2 yrs. after 10+2(Non-Medical) or B.Sc.(Non-Medical) or BCA or B.Sc.(Computer Science) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST.
A lateral entry student is the one who directly enters into the second year of his engineering. He/she must have completed a diploma in their respective branch to be eligible for the lateral entry program. After completing their diploma, they write a special examination for enrollment in the institute.

So such transfer as you desired are done with in the colleges of same University. Hence if college for which you are seeking the admission in 2nd year is falling within the jurisdiction of same university, than your transfer can be possible otherwise not.

A lot of colleges provide lateral entry. Government colleges as well as the private colleges accept lateral entry. Eg GGSIPU, Galgotias, Amity, LPU, etc. Almost all of the college provide lateral entry.
