Candidate must have completed Diploma Course in Engineering and Technology in relevant stream with minimum 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) from an All India Council for Technical Education or Central or State Government approved Institution or its equivalent.

As far as I know, there is no lateral entry admission at Madras Institute of Technology for Automobile Engineering. You may contact the administration for more details and the official website is www.mitindia.edu

You should complete your Diploma first to get admission in any engineering colleges through lateral entry. You cannot leave your Diploma in second or third year. You have to study till third year in Diploma. You should not have any pending backlogs also to get admission in engineering colleges. Best of luck.

The eligibility criteria for asked course is minimum 10+2 with minimum 50% of aggregate marks. Further, UID does not offers B. Des lateral admission in any programs.
