Hello Vikas, yes surely and definitely you can seek lateral admission after completion of your Diploma examination. Some States in India conduct CET while others give admission based on marks obtained in Diploma. You can find details on the webpage of DTE of your state.

Hello Rush,
There are plenty of colleges, in fact almost all the colleges offering this branch for regular course also offer lateral admission in this course. However, a word of caution. Lateral admissions are invariably restricted to the students of the home state only for government colleges or government aided colleges. Unaided colleges of course take students from all over India basis and also, deemed universities also take students from all India basis. So no need to worry. For getting admission in B.Pharma (Lateral Entry) - Admission is through Karnataka Examination Authority counseling based on the rank obtained in Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET).

It is very nice to hear from you that you are interested in doing your graduation in engineering after Diploma via distance education mode. Unfortunately, UGC has clarified only recently that there is no permission for doing professional courses in distance mode of learning. Hence, I would strongly advise you to not think on these lines. However, you can surely think of joining regular college. Best wishes to you.

No special preparation is needed for LPU's lateral entry. Your board exam's preparation is enough.
