Those who have completed three years recognised polytechnic diploma and have cleared state level lateral entry admission test can seek admission through lateral entry scheme to the third semester of a B Tech programme at GMEC. Every year, around 10% secure admission through lateral entry scheme in each branch to the third semester of a B Tech programme, I mean for lateral entry admissions to B Tech, Second Year for Diploma holders, there will be additional 10% in annual intake (Govt. & Management Seats) in each branch.

Most of the state level technical universities welcome lateral entries for any branch of engineering Diploma holders. Eg- Chandigarh University, Chitkara university, Chandigarh Group Of colleges etc. All the Best.

Yes, you can get admission through lateral entry by applying for B.Tech lateral entry counseling conducted by states as well as the institutes in June –July.

Yes, you can go for Diploma. Diploma courses are designed for class 10th pass out students, only after that you can go for either job or may join engineering, as a lateral entry direct in 2nd year as lateral entry.

MCA lateral entry is definitely better than 3 years MCA because it will save your crucial 1 year and the yearly fees too, plus the value of both the courses are almost equivalent.
