Eligibility criteria for lateral entry for B.Sc operation technology is stated by the institute as follows:
Candidate must have passed 2 year pre-university examination or equivalent as recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences with physics, chemistry and biology as principle subjects of study.
Lateral entry to second year for allied health science courses for candidates who have passed Diploma program from the Government Boards and recognized by RGUHS, fulfilling the conditions specified and these students are eligible to take admission on lateral entry system only in the same subject studied at diploma level.

There are 31 colleges that offer B.Tech lateral entry via UKSEE. Recently, the results of second counselling have been declared. So, officially the cut-off rank of UKSEE hasn't been declared. The qualification eligibility is the student must have obtained 45 percentage marks (general category) and 40 percentage (reserved category).

IEM takes admission through WBJEE and JEE Mains and not through any other joint entrance examination. Your rank should be between 700 to 800 (GMR) to get into IEM. IEM offers 12 seats for mechanical students through JELET. Usually, if seats get vacated at the end of the first year and there will be a chance of admission through JELET. In Techno India Salt Lake City for lateral entries eligibility criteria is that a candidate should have minimum 60% aggregate in Diploma in engineering.
