B.Tech lateral entry is a 3 years programme for Diploma holders students who wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree after their diploma. Students taking B.Tech lateral entry can get direct admission in engineering second year after completing their diploma. Yes, you can join through the lateral admission procedure . The requirements  for lateral entry are :-1. You should pass the eligibility criteria for the admissions given in the previous year.2. Some minimum percentage is also required and it varies according to the college.

Yes, SSRIT Chennai offers lateral entry to BTech course. Aspirants who have completed Diploma in Engineering/ Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education,  Tamil Nadu or its equivalent are eligible to apply for Lateral entry admission to the third semester of BE/ BTech in the branch corresponding to the branch of study can apply for BE/ BTech (LE). The candidates who possess a Degree in Science (BSc) with Mathematics as a subject at the BSc level are also eligible to apply for lateral entry admission to the third semester of BE/ BTech.

BTech lateral entry is offered under three specialisations at CT University. The specialisations offered are Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering.
