The legal maxims are part of the legal aptitude section of the CLAT paper. This is one of the more unpredictable topics, as some years there may be only three to four legal maxima, whereas in other years, like in 2017, there were around 15 maxima in the LA section. Therefore, for this topic, you need to stick to last year's papers and read selective maxims. Based on previous year's question papers, some examples of legal maxims are:
1. Habeas corpus
2. De jure
3. Ad hoc
4. Ex officio
5. Functus officio
You can look over the previous year's CLAT papers to note down the important ones to prepare.

No, there is no fee concession after clearing the CLAT exam. You are required to pay the complete course fee for your assigned NLU to confirm your admission. The fees for NLUs vary from Rs 1 Lacs per year to Rs 2.5 Lacs per year. You can avail yourself of scholarships to cover the fee at certain NLUs. For instance, the National Law University of Bengaluru facilitates external scholarships for law graduates. You can avail of the merit-based Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships if you scored more than 80% in the 12th grade. In addition, you can avail of private scholarships like the Aditya Birla Scholarship.

According to experts, the AILET exam is comparably tougher than the CLAT exam. This is due to the following reasons:
1. The AILET is only for admission to NLU Delhi, whereas the CLAT is for admission to other National Law Universities. Therefore, the competition compared to available seats is higher in the AILET exam than in the CLAT exam.
2. The nature of the questions in the CLAT English section is comparably easier than the AILET paper.
3. The number of questions in both papers is 150, but the weighting of the questions varies by section. As a result, CLAT's few sections are more scoring for a subset of applicants, such as GK having
