Read the newspaper like a religious fanatic, ensure that you have chosen one proper national daily newspaper and read it every day from top to bottom spending at least an hour daily. This creates more reading speed, brushes up your English and gives you an advantage in the GK section which is heavily focused on current affairs. Solve the past year paper question papers as a matter of life and death, ensure that you have access to all the important past year papers and a reliable solution booklet. There are many random books available. We recommend our own solution booklet since the whole team SAT down and researched and debated for a whole month to come out with detailed explanations for all the questions. Since a lot of the questions in the CLAT are taken from past year papers and are anyways indicative of the kind of questions that the CLAT keeps asking, it is a must do exercise. Take all sections seriously Practice the basic things like Maths and Logical reasoning. Most people simply commit the fatal flaw of assuming in their heads that they cannot do the maths section or some other random excuse! But remember that you may not have enjoyed it (and may even have hated it), but you did pass the maths paper at 10thWHICH MEANS YOU CAN DO IT
Give the mocks as religiously as radical right wing fundamentalists make sure that you give mocks and revise the same with proper analysis. Do this as seriously as the actual CLAT. Take up something serious like the CP Hammerit series (which has of course produced All India Rank 1 for two years in a row now! CLAT 2015 and CLAT 2016). Health is important (remember it clearly) Above all else, ensure that you stay healthy through the preparation process. Listening to mom and dad regarding food can sometimes go a long way! Be calm in the examination and ensure that you don't have any nervousness problems in the middle of all of it.

Hi, you can definitely prepare at home for CLAT. You just have to focus really well. And yes, you can buy the material of coaching institutes from book markets such as daryaganj if you're in Delhi. And you would also have to buy the test series from institutes like career launcher or CLAT possible for sectional tests and mock tests. Let's see how the section wise preparation should go -
GK -
For current affairs: you should prepare this section from gk today, jagran josh and some monthly or weakly manthan from any coaching institute. If you do this properly, you would be fine. But if you want you can download some apps as well for daily quizzes. And yes! REVISE. Revise the current affairs every month or you will forget them. For Static: you can prepare this from person or you can prepare topic wise from internet by manually searching the topics and doing them from wherever you find them the most suitable. ENGLISH-
For vocabulary, read word power made easy and do 5 or 10 words (upto your capacity) from any app (Volt is a good one). And also read newspaper regularly, it will improve your vocabulary and will also help with the current affairs. Practice reading comprehensions, at least 1 everyday. And practice parajumbles as well. LOGICAL AND ANALYTICAL REASONING -
Practice and practice and practice. Practice as much as you can. Solve the material from coaching institute and then start giving sectional and topic tests to perfect your skills. This should be enough. MATHS -
Solve your material from coaching institute effectively and practice with sectional and topic tests. And again, practice as much as you can. LEGAL APTITUDE -
AGAIN do the material from coaching institute and then practice from sectional tests and topic tests. And obviously, practice the previous year question papers thoroughly. Especially for legal aptitude, mostly the questions are same with just some minor changes in the facts such as changed names. You can also watch YouTube videos to revise some concepts. Law school 101 is really good for legal. You can also revise gk with YouTube videos. And one crucial tip, DON'T EVER lag behind with your gk current affairs and mocks.
