Most BFA fine art programs start with a foundation year where you learn art and design fundamentals before you have to declare a degree focus. There is also quite a bit of overlap in degree requirements that it is relatively easy to switch programs (core requirements for one will be elective requirements for another). A more important decision to make is whether you want to go to an art school or a university with an arts programme. The culture will be very different at each. A university will grant you more exposure to cross-disciplinary opportunities, traditional college experiences (sports, Greek life, and general education). Your state-school will likely be cheaper than an arts school and many universities boast strong art departments. However, at an art school (RISD, Cal Arts, Parsons), you will be surrounded by an intense, focused creative environment of like-minded individuals. Arts schools may also have better resources (studios, fabrication labs) and more support dedicated to career services. Ultimately, yes, you can make a career out of art and design, be it freelancing, working in an agency, or working in-house. The opportunities are vast and you'll discover more as you go through your undergraduate programme.

A graduate of English literature is eligible to apply for these posts. A few of the main exams are held by the SSC and the UPSC. Those who wish to apply for the position of teachers or lecturers can apply for the UGC CSIR (NET) or the SET exam. The defense service is one such area that takes in students after they have completed their graduation. Other areas where they can get jobs include the Police, agriculture, transportation or in the area of private investigation. If they wish to get jobs with the state services, students are required to write the entrance examination that is held by the Public Service Commission (PSC). For government jobs, there are several written test for which you can apply. You can fill the forms for Nationalized Banks, State Electricity Board, Indian Railway, Government Schools/Colleges, etc. Exams are conducted by UPSC, RRB, SSC, etc. on successful passing the exams, candidates are called for few rounds of interviews. For educational field you should have a B.Ed.

There are immense opportunities for an English and literature graduate in government as well as private sector. A graduate in English and Literature can pursue MA in English and Literature and appear for UGC NET exam and apply for Assistant professor in various universities across India. One can also appear for various government exams like SSC, Bank PO, State PSC and Civil Services. Apart from teaching and government services a graduate in English and Literature can go in reporting and Media, Content writing, Sales, Front Office, Advertising and Promotions, Public Relations, Customer Service and Airlines. A management degree after graduation will enhance scope and opportunities.

In English literature one can learn lot about English language and in today world English has more preference than any other language. In foreign language, one can learn any one language in deep but it depends upon the student's interest. But, in today world there is more need of English graduates. In English graduation courses one can learn about basic commutation skills, listening, speaking and many more things which can develop scope for the students. English graduates can easily find teaching jobs after completing the teacher training course.
