Burdwan University LL.B. Eligibility Criteria Candidates seeking admissions to LL.B. Courses at Burdwan University must fulfil the following eligibility criteria: Candidates must have a valid Bachelors degree with at least 45% of the total marks under 10+2+3 pattern. A relaxation of 5% is given to SC/ST category candidates. Candidates must also appear for the Written Admission Test conducted by the university itself. Burdwan University LLB.Admission Guidelines Admissions to the LL.B. Programme offered by Burdwan University are based on the Admission Test and academic merit of the candidates followed by counselling rounds. Admission Test conducted shall consist of English and General Knowledge as subjects. The test shall be of 100 marks. Roll no for admission test will be issued by the Office of Secretary in the Hall ticket at the time of application form submitted by the candidate. The rank of the candidates will be made based on the marks obtained in the written test. In case of the uniform score of the candidates in the written test, preference will be given to the candidates having an Honours Degree than Pass Graduates.Candidates seeking admission against Sports (SP) quota of seats must have to submit certificates for their participation in Inter-State or Inter-University Sports and Athletic competitions (not earlier than Madhyamik level). BVP Delhi is a decent colleges but you should look at these factors while deciding:
- B.A. LL.B. Or BBA LL.B. - they have quite different subjects and while B.A. LL.B. Is much more popular than BBA some people do opt for BBA if they have already studied commerce in high school (makes it easier for them)
- Fees - here, BVP is costlier (2.6 lacs for the 1st year itself). - Exposure - If you study at a college in Delhi (BVP) you will get easy access to many famous law firms situated in Delhi especially since most law firms actually prefer to take in local students (studying in Delhi) as work schedule and time management gets easier for both the firms and the students. If you get ample opportunities to intern at good firms while in Delhi then your chances to gain a PPO would increase. - Placements - both these colleges have decent placements with avg. Packages ranging from 7-10 lacs per annum and many students getting PPOs in their 4th year
- Personal interest - I suggest you take a look this colleges' websites, read about their history, student achievements, campus infrastructure and then decide where would you want to spend the next 5 years of you life. As I said, both colleges will offer you quite a few chances to shine but it is up to you to decide whether to go for B.A. Or BBA LL.B. And whether spending those extra lacs in fees for Delhi would be worth it. Take your time, do not rush it. Good day!
