It becomes difficult to choose from a number of institutions but if I have to choose one college for MBA then I would choose LM Thapar School of Management (LM TSM). It is one of the leading MBA colleges not only in Punjab but in India. Thapar University and Chitkara university are excellent, however, Thapar is better than Chitkara University in terms of placements, faculty support, and infrastructure. The average MBA salary is 7.0 lacs per year, and the maximum MBA salary is 21.35 lacs per year. There are 77 different employers who are hiring Thapar students. Microsoft, Walmart, DE Shaw & Co. , Amazon, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Adobe, IBM, NVIDIA, Samsung, YAHOO, NHAI, Vedanta, JSW Steel Ltd. , Indian Oil, BOSCH, and other well-known employers are among its major recruiters.

Thapar University is a well-known university and is one of a kind in the region. Getting an MBA degree from Thapar is very much appreciated while seeking job opportunities. Other than that, the in-house placements of TU are pretty good. Many well-known brands, institutions, etc. come to Thapar and absorb students either as interns or as full-time employees. The MBA program at TU aims program to groom a generation of thinkers, practitioners, and leaders by encompassing everything from rules and regulations to economic situations to geographic peculiarities. Therefore, Thapar is a pretty good option for you to pursue your MBA.

Yes, it is possible, it won't affect admissions for sure. There are students in top IIM who took time off for UPSC preparation. However, I can't say the same for placements.
