Hi Karan, any professional experience will do since students from all backgrounds are eligible to apply as long as your education background is relevant. However, you must also justify your choice of programme, career plans and how your work experience makes you a suitable candidate for the programme. They will evaluate your application as per their admission policies and it's on a case by case basis.

Hi Shriya,
A UGC recognized degree will be accepted, but universities will evaluate your degree first, assess them as per their education framework. You have to check this directly with universities you wish to apply to. Email them, they will respond. Marks criteria are usually the same but evaluation will be definitely stricter. You must also take IELTS.

But if you wish to gain experience from that country, UK does not give you stay back option, whereas, the USA gives you a stay back. If your programme comes under the STEM category, you can stay back.
