Then see what exam it requires like language tests etc. These steps are important before you make a decision. Then you may want to check fee and availability of scholarship. Then you should apply for admission if everything is right. If your candidature is accepted, you may begin applying for Visa.

LEET exam is conducted every year. Moreover, some universities also conduct their own entrance exam for lateral entry. You can also apply in VIT whose exam form last date is June.

As I have been to a coaching earlier (FIITJEE). I am pretty much in favor of them despite what others perceive of it. If they provide you good enough teachers, go ahead and grab a seat. Else, go for some IIT-focused tuitions and stuff (the former is advisable). I know, I am still not helping you with your question, but having been taught by quality teachers and being exposed to a healthy competitive environment is in itself an experience, which every IIT aspirant must have.
