M.D Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for MD (Doctor of Medicine) programme in Medical College, Kolkata are as follows:
1. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed their MBBS degree from a recognised medical college/university and have completed one year of rotating internship on or before March 31 of the year of admission.
2. Minimum Marks: Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 55% marks in their MBBS degree. However, the minimum marks required may vary for different specializations.
3. NEET-PG Score: Candidates must have qualified in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET-PG) examination, which is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
4. Registration: Candidates must be registered with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or any of the state medical councils.
5. Age Limit: There is no age limit for admission to MD programme in Medical College, Kolkata. The selection process for MD programme in Medical College, Kolkata is based on the NEET-PG score and the availability of seats in the chosen specialisation. Candidates must also fulfill other eligibility criteria as specified by the college and the admission process is governed by the rules and regulations set by the West Bengal University of Health Sciences.

The postgraduate MD (Homoeopathy) programme has started with 3 courses, namely Homoeopathic Material Medical, Organon of Medicine, and Homoeopathic Philosophy and Repertory. The course is regulated by the Central Council of Homeopathy. Eligibility for MD in Homoeopathy: Candidates must have completed the BHMS (Direct or Graded) degree or its equivalent, as determined by the Central Council of Homoeopathy.
1- Those who completed the prescribed internship on or before the deadline for application submission alone are eligible for admission.
2- Candidates aspiring to pursue the course need to have a BHM degree with a minimum aggregate score of 60% from a university recognised by the Medical Council of India.
