Candidates need to have a valid bachelor's degree of a minimum four years duration or equivalent from a recognised university to apply for NID Gandhinagar MDes course. Aspirants with full-time Diploma of a minimum of four years in Design, Fine Arts, Applied Arts or Architecture after Class 12 can also apply for MDes. Candidates belonging to General or General-EWS category must be born on or after Jul 1, 1993 to apply for MDes.

The candidate needs to have passed the Bachelor degree exam (12+4) to be eligible for admission. Before applying for admission, make sure that you meet the eligibility criteria. Students who have written NIFT or NATA,  NIFT or NID exams can submit their score card while applying for admission for design at Sasi Creative College . On scrutiny of the application, candidate may be exempt from writing the Stage 1 exam and will be intimated accordingly, but the Stage 2 Portfolio Review and Personal Interview is compulsory for all.

Candidates should have passed class 12 in any stream from a recognised board with aggregate 50% marks for taking admission in Bachelor of Design course. For Master of Design course candidates should have Bachelor degree in any stream with aggregate 50% marks. Candidates appearing in last semester of their Bachelor degree can also apply. The candidate needs to ensure their eligibility before filling out the application form.
