Yes, a strong background in mathematics is required for admission to the Master of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics programme at MIT. Applicants are expected to have a strong background in mathematical and physical sciences and/or engineering. The programme requires one graduate-level mathematics subject. Stanford University's MS in Aeronautics and Astronautics program's application deadline is December 1. Admission with financial aid and admission without financial aid both follow this deadline. It is important that the applicant ensure that all their required materials reach the university by the deadline as applications submitted after the deadline are not accepted.
