Well for M.Sc Degree at IIT Bombay, you need to give IIT JAM exam. I have given GATE exam (not JAM) for M.Tech, but my guess is that the admission procedure would be similar. Get a rank within top 150, after which are shortlisted for screening test+interview (sometimes only interview). Only after clearing those interview you are admitted. For an IITian the GATE/JAM exam is exempted but you need to clear a minimum GPA limit for this. And yes, maths is compulsory.

M.Sc. Biotechnology is a 2-year long course divided into 4 semesters. The minimum eligibility criterion needed to be fulfilled for pursuing the course is graduation in any of Biology, Math, and Chemistry. Admission to the course is based on the candidate's performance in a relevant entrance exam such as JAM, GATE JNU CEEB etc.

The test will be based on the medical biotechnology taught in Bachelor's degree. There aren't specific details. 40 seats are available. So, best of luck. The test is on 13th June.
