Basic components of an ecosystem-structure and functional aspects of an Ecosystem-Tropic structure-Ecological Niche-Ecological Dominance-Stability, Diversity rule. Homeostasis, aquatic
Ecosystem-physico-chemical nature of lentic and lotic ecosystems. Types of aquatic ecosystemstructure and organisation with examples of fresh water Ecosystem. Marine water ecosystem, estuarine water Ecosystem-Mangroves. Terrestrial Ecosystem: Tundra forest, Grassland, Desert ecosystem. Energy flow in ecosystems-Laws of Thermodynamics. Economic importance of Mineral, Soil forming minerals and rocks. Soil conservation and erosion. Study of Earth interior Crust, Mantle and core. Geomorphological studies: Nature and type of land-forms. Natural Hazards-Earthquake, Volcano, Landslides, Floods, Hydrological cycle-Water quality Monitoring methods.

As per my experience, I would suggest M.Sc in Microbiology because it has a vast scope of anyone is really interested to do something in his or her life. Microbiology is an important field in the areas of pharmaceutical companies as u can work in QC and QA Department. Microbiology is a seperate department in each and every company. Next, u can work in hospitals in the pathology department, other u can teach in schools and colleges as teachers and professors respectively. U can also prepare for CSIR net to get government lecturers hip or fellowship for Jrf. On the other hand, environment is also a good subject if you want to make your career in the teaching field.
