Most IITs including IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Guwahati, IIT Roorkee and IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, admit students to their MSc Physics programs through the Joint Admission Test for MSc (JAM). JAM is the centralized entrance test for MSc programs at IITs and IISc. No individual IIT conducts its own separate entrance exam for MSc Physics admission instead all rely on JAM scores for candidate selection.

Whether a BTech (Bachelor of Technology) graduate is eligible for an MSc in Physics depends on the specific admission requirements of the university or institution they are applying to. Generally, many universities allow candidates with a BTech degree to apply for an MSc in Physics, especially if they have a strong foundation in physics and mathematics, as these subjects are integral to the field.

Students will have access to a virtual lab platform where they can perform simulations and experiments remotely. However, for hands-on experience, students may be required to attend practical sessions at designated study centers or approved institutions. These sessions provide the opportunity to work with real equipment and conduct experiments under the guidance of faculty. It's essential to check the specific requirements and schedules from IGNOU for accurate details about the lab classes.F
